This piece is from an edition of 350 There are three editions of 350 each having it's own patina or color. Approx 16" tall 7lbs in weight. This sculpture is from the 1st edition, shown in Descharnes book "Dali Sculptures and Objects" pg 122
History: The statue of Newton is a translation of the personage of the 1932 painting Phosphene de Laporte, hommage au physicien italien Giambattista della Porta. Newton discovered the law of gravity and compiled the Mathematical Principals of Natural Philosophy explaining for the first time the doctrine of universal attraction and astronomical phonomena, tides, the equinoxes, etc.
