If anyone offers you a FREE APPRAISAL...Watch out, something is not right.
We can evaluate your art and give you an opinion as to it's authenticity, but we are not able to generate a full report, as that would be a conflict
of interests. We are interested in brokering your work, so our motivation is to sell the work, and thus we have to inspect it to see if we think
it needs to go on to the next step and have one of the experts generate a document for you.
A proper appraisal and certificate of authenticity takes time to create and involves research. Not just anyone can create the documents
you need. A certified expert has to volunteer a few years of time doing mock appraisals, and must study a vast amount of data having to
do with property values in art antiques and other areas. After all of this time and work, the soon to be expert now has to pay some hefty
fees to join one of the few recognized Appraisal organizations. So you can see why a gallery owner who has only sold art retail is no where
near qualified to give you advice over the phone or the internet. Most of them are simply trying to get you to come in and buy something or
they will be happy to charge you a fee even if the info they provide is not accurate.
