The 1904 etching representing a destitute couple, is an important work from Picasso's "blue period".
According to Christie's Hong Kong, it is so far the highest-priced engraving in history.
German art dealer Heinz Berggruen, a 90-year-old patron of the arts and a personal friend of Picasso, acquired the work.

The Labyrinth by Dali
Dali Museum in Florida to show hand signed limited edition Dali prints.
One unique dimension of the Dali Museum exhibition will be a separate gallery dedicated exclusively to the Dali's prints, "Alchemy of the Philosophers," whose creation took over four years. They were in the personal collection of the late Dali Museum founder and benefactor, Reynolds Morse (his widow, Eleanor still survives him today). "Alchemy" entails 10 original, magnificently colored dry point etchings with lithography, decorated with precious and semi-precious stones illustrating, as one publication put it, "alchemists' writings on the transmutation of base metals into silver and gold." Such recognition is sure to bring considerable investment capital into the Dali print market.

As more an more limited edition Dali works appear in museum exhibits, we see values of these prints increase accordingly. In the past 2 years, we have seen exhibits in Austrailia, Tacoma WA, Turkey, Florida, Los Angeles(LACMA),MOMA,
We are now seeing some works reach the $50,000 to $80,000 range.
There are still some affordable works with hand signatures, but as with Picasso, Chagall, Miro, Warhol etc., we have not seen prices go down, only increase as the demand rises and the availability become a challenge.
