Surrender of Breda

salvador dali hand signed print on heavy paper
Surrender of Breda by Dali
29 1/2 x 30 1/2 inches on Archival paper.
Documents from the original publisher, along with
new certificates.
The Surrender of Breda is Dali's interpretation of a well known museum work by Velasquez.
The original is a 307 x 367cm oil on display at the Museo del Prado in Madrid.
The original painting by Velasques depicts an event in 1615 when the commanding officer of Breda, surrendered
the city to the Genoese Ambrosio Sinola, commander of the Spanish forces.
Salvador Dali's interpretation keeps the original image in tact and includes a window into surrealism along with the
impression of a large tear in the image, the opening in the image seems to create the split between the two forces.

Hand signed in pencil in 1974 Impressive!
